Paying your Council Tax bill


Please note that the City of Lincoln Council does not accept Cash or Cheques at City Hall. All calls are recorded for monitoring and training purposes.


Ways to Pay Your Council Tax Bill


By Direct Debit

You can pay your Council Tax installments by Direct Debit by visiting www.lincoln.gov.uk/ctdirectdebit

If you do not have access to the internet you can setup a direct debit over the telephone by calling 01522 873 355.


Over the Internet

Please visit our website www.lincoln.gov.uk/payments and follow the on screen instructions.


By Telephone

Please visit our 24 hour automated payment line on 01522 873 666 and follow the instructions.


By Bacs

You can pay by BACS through your Bank or Building Society, by either going to your branch or via your online banking.

Simply quote your Council Tax reference number and the City of Lincoln Council’s bank account details, which are:

Bank sort code: 30-95-05

Bank Account Number: 00214663

Your Council Tax Reference number as shown on the top right of your Council Tax Bill e.g. 000203098


At the Post office

Take your payment card and hand it over at any Post Office along with your payment.


Pay in 12 Monthly Installments

If you pay by direct debit, you can request to pay over 12 installments. To do this please visit www.lincoln.gov.uk/changectdirectdebit
